Cartoon days

Everybody would have been crazy about cartoons. My mom never gave the cable connection coz we got so very addicted to cartoons and other music channels like Mtv, Channel V etc etc..When i was school, the cartoons that impressed me most were Swat cats, Captain Planet, Tom and Jerry(ofcourse none can hate T&J), Bugs Bunny and so on...I used to be so very crazy about Swat cats that every evening i used to miss those evening chats wit my classmates after school. Swat cats will be telecasted at 4pm and in my school, the last bell rings at 3.40pm. i used to rush home in my cycle. I wud not even wash my hands and legs. My mom would bring finger bowls. Me and ma sister wouldnt move out of our seats till 5pm..Captain planet was the next fav cartoon..I admired the amount of info it gave..
T-bone and Razer in Swat kats were my heroes. Infact i had dreams abt working the swat kats squad. I never missed single episode and i still remember every character in the Cartoon..
I just loved Bugs bunny and i would imitate the bunny a lot..I used to irritate ppl like how the bunny does.
Omg, cartoons these days are pathetic. CN has lost its charm, repeating all the boring cartoons. Anyways I dont even have time to switch on the idiot box these days...

Glory Glory Manchester United

I was quite excited for few weeks about the English Premier League results..When Manchester united lost to chelsea, i really couldnt digest. I am a Manchester united fanatic and i know how irritating this would be. They had just 2 games to decide their fate..Yesterday's matches were thrilling for sure. I knew, Manchester united would surely win the game and so would Chelsea. But, footbal is a game where predictions might become sometimes wrong. Ya predictions went wrong, when Chelsea drew with bolton. I dint watch the game though. Whenever i sit before the tv to watch a MAn U match, Man U either loses or they draw. So i rather kept away from the game and got updates from my cousin.

I started watching EPL 4 years back and i hardly knew anything about the players etc. As days went by, i had a great liking for Man U. My cousin is one way responsible for it and he is a great fan of Manchester united, following every inch of the game. He seldom keeps track of cricket matches except for World cup. Enough of my own stories.

I am happy that Red devils are champions again....hope they perform well on 21st may in moscow and bash chelsea..John Terry is injured and Rooney is back. That sounds good......

bad deeps(wit horns): Terry is injured....hehehe...

good deeps(wit hallow): wicked deeps...no dont think like this...Terry is a great player.

RED DEVILS ROCK AND RULE...................Hope i get a chance to witness the game live at the Old Trafford one day...

Trip to the alamparai fort

I totally forgot to write about my trip to Alamparai fort, which is about 100 kms away from Chennai...Alamparai fort is situated near a place called Marakanam, on the way to Pondy. Its not actually on the main road, but you will have to go through lots of small, uncompacted so called roads. Now, after a great difficulty, if you land up in a place, nevertheless you will realise, Alamparai fort existed here...Actually, you can just see the ruins of the fort and there is nothing so great about it. If pictures of Golkanda fort and Trichy fort are there in your mind, then please try to erase it. This place will have few blocks of the palace in a delipitated condition.

The best part about this place are back waters. The fort is surrounded by backwaters. If you go there on a cloudy day, i bet you can have fun. We did a grave mistake by choosing tis place on a sunday afternoon during the month of April. There are boats that can take you to the otherside (sea shore), where you can have fun in the beach. Be very careful while negotiating rates with the local fishermen for the boat ride, because they are highly volatile and wont stick to the same rates till the end. We faced a nightmare wit a man who demanded 2k while we initially fixed just Rs.350/-. He said he wont let us to the other side. We somehow paid just Rs.350/- and reached the other side. Be careful, even if you are threatened by him, dont lose your nerve, be brave and face him stating you wont be shelling even a single rupee extra.

Better pack lunch, otherwise it is very difficult for you have food. Especially people sensitive to road side dhaba, wise decision if you carry food. We actually took food from home, one item from each of us.
On the whole, it was a great experience. Infact, there are lots of places in outskirts of chennai, which most of them havent come across. We took pictures of sunset near back waters on the way to Chennai from Marakanam. Its a splendid place for taking pictures...Please dont venture into the backwaters as the sand is pretty loose.

Meet up after a long time

Post dedicated to my best friends in college...
We all decided to meet on a saturday evening...Hari & Suri had come from Bangalore, Rohini from hyderabad. I know we have become refined corporates now, yet we still remain the same. Hari - A girl who always laughs for anything and everything...
Rohini - Still watching cartoon network...
Meena - Same reclusive girl and opens up only if she has mood
Suri - Same solo suri...
Vijay - i have no comments to offer.....
This meeting sans vijay lacked spice, yet we accomplished it, inspite of our busy schedule. Hmmm, we decided to have a night out at rohini's house...When i was climbing the stairs of her apartment, every step reminded me of those wonderful moments i had wit them. Rohini's house was more like a second home to me and her mom never hesitated to serve us wit food anytime. Every part of life is wonderful, be it school days, college days etc....but my college days seemed more wonderful to me than anything else....tats purely because of my friends. Infact, rohini's mom's affection prevented me from visiting my parents home at coimbatore...I never missed them.
I know this post wud sound so stupid and emotional but i wanted to share... I want to show, how special are these ppl to me.....hats off guys.....

Summer time........

A post after a long time...
I know its summer time..heat waves arent a new stuff to ppl in chennai. These days you could find no house witout aircons...My dad wanted to put aircon in my room, i strictly objected to it. Two reasons, electricity bills and rate of emmission. Aircons are needed in houses where you dont have proper ventilation. How did we manage ten years before?Aircons were a matter of luxury those days and it is well known tat only rich people were entitled. Now, it has become a necessity and yet i manage witout it because, my house is blessed wit a park close by.

Am one way glad tat am managing this summer witout aircon and reducing emmissions. It is not only wit respect to emmission, am saving a lot on electricity. Aircon is must if it is really intolerable. Else, chuck it. You can manage witout it.

PLIGHT OF SUDAN

I was so touched after coming across various news articles about the plight of sudan. So i just felt like jotting down few horrifying things that i came across.

Sudan's population is impoverished and has been victimised by almost 2 decades of civil war. Sudan is one of those 38 countries eligible for borrowing funds from other countries. It can be rather called as "Heavily indebted poor country".

The most amazing and as well as the sadest part is, Sudan is sitting on major oil reserves. These oil reserves are more than enough for the country to stabilize its economy. Obviously economic development will lead to peaceful life for those innocent citizens who are in need of all basic facilities - food, clothing and shelter.

The same oil production is bankrolling the Government's pursuit of Genocide against its own people. Sudan is one of those countries, where arms trafficking are highly prevalent. Arms trafficking in Sudan are only benefitting few and are an abuse to many.

Sudan also includes massive human right abuses like killing, rape and displacement of more than million civilians. Due to arms trafficking, Sudan is facing major economic crisis. Most of the Developed Countries around the world are involved in arms trafficking either directly or indirectly for getting the benefit of those oil reserves. To add fuel to the fire, the Genocidal campaign of the Sudanese (Muslim) government against native Muslims living in the newly-discovered oil field lands of Darfur has been actively pursued through government-assisted militias, primarily the Janjawid. Yet, the Government claims that it has got nothing to do with it and is totally uninvolved.

It is rather shameful to realise that the developed nations are involved for the sake of its benefit. Innocent civilians are being tested. Long term solutions to the problems would be disarmament, demobilisation of arms in conflict enriched countries. Effective conflict resolutions should be proccessed for countries like Sudan,Somalia and countries fallin on the same line.

Haaa….y need a nano car????

It was a Friday evening I was traveling back home from office. There is no need for elaborating the traffic scenario of Chennai. Everybody should be aware of it. There is a long signal on my way home. Its actually a junction linking all the major places in the city. Every wait is not less than 15 minutes.

I was traveling in a share auto and I was waiting in that signal. I was just peeping out of the window to notice a family occupying a Honda Activa bike. For a minute, I thought I was hallucinating…

I was shocked to see 3 adults and 2 kids on a bike. One adult in the age of group of 45 – 50. Other two were in late 20s. One kid below 2yrs and the other would have been hardly 5 yrs. (Why need a NANO car, when people have found ways to travel in a 2 wheeler frivolously like this?? ). I wanted to take a picture of it, but unfortunately my mobile cam is not that perfect for a zoom.

I was first aghast. The first question that came to my mind was “how did they manage to accommodate five people in a bike?” Infact it is quite an uneasy thing to accommodate 5 persons in a small segment car. Next question was “How could people do such a grave mistake?” Don’t they have any sense of responsibility? The road in which they travel is a marked accident-prone zone. Yet, they care a shit. Honda activa is a heavy bike, if rider loses balance thats it. I could see the rider was struggling to coup with the weight. He was trying hard to balance and I could see the crowds attention on him. I could see worried faces, but this man, he never bothered.

I was so bloody worried about their safety but the man riding the bike was merrily chatting with the other two. Irony was the traffic policeman was standing very close to them and did not penalize them. In a share auto, if the policeman tries to find out an extra passenger, he heavily fines them. Why the hell does he leave those who care a shit about road safety???I couldnt find an answer for this. Solution to curtail such stupid act is to enforce rules. Heavy penalty and proper enforcement can only prevent negligent idiots from making grave mistakes.
